There’s something about the Trafford Business Expo which always draws in the summer and warm weather each year. For the third year in a row, the event attracted a lovely hot day along with hundreds of businesses to the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground for a day of networking and building business relationships. Once again, the balcony doors of the Point were wide open for people to take in the views and enjoy their networking outside.
From 10am on the 7th June 2016, when the exhibition floor opened, we welcomed over 400 visitors through the doors. This year we were delighted to hand out free welcome delegate bags for all attendees. These cotton bags, sponsored by Leemic the photocopy and print system suppliers, were really well received upon registration. Each bag contained the brand new GM Business Connect magazine from the event’s media partners, plus more business freebies for the attendees.
“As Media Partners we have been supporting Trafford Business Expo every year since it started, and this was again a great organised event. We firmly believe this Business Expo is by far the best in the area in providing promotional support to quality businesses. We are already committed to next year’s event and expect it to be even bigger and better.”
Paul Mirage and Jon Cheetham, Directors GM Business Connect Magazine.
As professional conference organisers, we find it really important to make each event different from year to year, and also make the event as exciting as possible for the attendees and the exhibitors. The two cars provided by RRG Group looked brilliant inside the foyer at registration, with four additional cars lined up outside the doors for all attendees to have a look inside.
“The feedback from my sales team across all the franchises that were represented, said it was by far the best business supported event of the year.”
Martin Shorrock, General Manager Fleet Sales , RRG Group Fleet
Upstairs on the Mezzanine, the Trafford Council Business Support Zone played host to a selection of business support and information stands including Beever & Struthers, GM Business Growth Hub, Trafford Council, BT Get Digital Faster, Natwest, Business Finance Solution, UK Trade& Investment, STAR Procurement, Altrincham Fab Lab, and MIDAS. The event provided an opportunity to learn more about business support and funding opportunities available to Trafford’s businesses.
Attendees to the Trafford Business Expo made the most of this opportunity out of the office to update their online headshot with The Head Shot Guy. The team at The Head Shot Guy set up a photobooth on their exhibition stand which was really popular all day and provided free headshots to visitors. Both exhibitors and visitors also enjoyed free tea, coffee and lunch through out the day, which creates perfect opportunities for building business connections.
“What an amazing Expo! This is the first time I have attended this Expo and my main goal was to increase awareness of my hotel and fingers crossed gain a couple of on the day enquiries. We actually received 16 enquiries, one has already converted. The organisation and the calibre of people attending the event was amazing, you can tell how hard the team at innov8 have worked! 2 weeks out and I have already booked my stand for the 2017 Expo! Great job Innov8!!”
Lorna Massey, Sales Manager, Mercure Manchester Piccadilly
We had a fantastic line-up of workshops led by industry professionals taking place throughout the day of the expo which were free to attend. The Digital Garage from Google was offering the delegates a digital tune up with tips for effectively telling your story and reaching new customers online. Andy Preston was back by popular demand, with a record amount of people trying to squeeze into the workshop room, to listen to his workshop on improving your sales and Simon Hill from Extravision was sharing his expertise on making the most of your email marketing.
There was a very exciting and interactive exhibition floor full of products, competitions, games, freebies and tasty treats which really engaged the visitors and made fantastic talking points. Finally, a big congratulations to Talk UK Telecoms for winning the Trafford Business Expo 2016 Best Stand Award. Their energy and enthusiasm throughout the day was brilliant, with their UEFA Euro 2016 themed stand complete with a table football.
If you attended the Trafford Business Expo and really enjoyed the exhibition, or if you couldn’t make it but are keen to be involved in a business exhibition, the next date for your diary is the Cheshire Business Expo on 14th September 2016 at the Hallmark Hotel Manchester Airport.
