James Caldwell from innov8 speaks about new speakers, expanded format and new Social Event in advance of the Social Media Conference 2017
For the past 7 years innov8 have been cutting a trend of creating and running successful Conferences and Exhibitions within the corporate and association sectors, one of their biggest recent success stories has been the creation of the International Social Media Conference. The event was created by Managing Director – James Caldwell after feedback from clients, partners and attendees that the quality of education on Social Media Marketing was lacking.
“I said it four years ago, and even now I'm still not surprised” confirmed James Caldwell. “There is a huge push within the Digital and marketing sectors to get a greater understanding of how we can all improve our Social and Digital Marketing Practises, there are a lot of smaller events which provide snapshots of information but a lot of companies are looking for something more indepth.”
The first Social Media Conference took place on the 3rd
December in Manchester 2014 with over 100 delegates packing the venue at thestudio in Manchester. The feedback James explained was extraordinary;
“We knew we had put together a great line-up for the first event in 2014, but the feedback after the event was outstanding, delegates felt like they had got the value of a full day programme in what they would have normally paid for a one or two hour workshop.”
“We have now built up a two day programme, to help support the delegates we have coming from overseas.” confirmed James. "Last year we had delegates from the Netherlands, Iceland, America and across Asia, after speaking to those delegates they wanted to come across to Manchester for longer to help develop more knowledge and maximise their travelling time here in the UK."
Looking at the programme its headline speakers aren’t Marketing Guru’s, James’ team have gone for experts who can also provide real world knowledge of how use of Social Media Marketing has affected their organisation. With Owen Williams from the BBC, Jamie Jewitt from Love Island and Sebastian Rendez from Paid Social it’s a headline of Keynotes that would make most World Congresses envious. Coupled with the mix of selectable workshops from some of the best Social Media trainers in the UK, it’s an exciting and knowledgeable line-up that is guaranteed to provide real value for what is a modest £250.00 registration fee.
The Social Media Conference has also benefited from a new more friendly website, smarter slicker branding in the new Logo and design which pulls together that feel that this is an event that truly brings together some of the best of the Digital Marketing speakers with Businesses and Delegates from around the world.
A final world from James on who he sees as the ideal delegate to the Social Media Conference in 2017:
“We’ve designed this Conference for business leaders and the actual people who are delivering the Marketing Plans and Strategies of International Companies, we’ve had a huge interest from blue chip companies and PLC’s who are sending a large number of their team down to ensure that they get the best value out of their Social Media Marketing. My advice would be, if you are in any way responsible for the Marketing of your organisation, then this is an event you cannot miss.”
